Silver Strikers coach Peter Mponda has heaped praise on FCB Nyasa Big Bullets coach Calisto Pasuwa ahead of their meeting in the 2023 Charity Shield match.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s Silver Strikers versus FCB Nyasa Big Bullets clash at the Bingu National Stadium, Mponda who worked under Pasuwa as an assistant coach for four years described Pasuwa as one of the best mentors of his career.
“we are playing against a very good team, coached by a very good coach. As a player I’ve gone through different coaches, also as a manager I’ve worked under different coaches but among all Kalisto Pasuwa and RVG stands out as the best ever through out my career” said Mponda
On the preparations of his team, Mponda said the team is well prepared for the Charity Shield match, describing it as his final preparatory match.
“We are prepared for this game, it’s one of the games for our preseason.
“We are not really looking for a win though we have been training to win, but our focus is to win the League and Cup games not Charity Shield so this is one of our games which will help us to finetune our team”
Mponda joined Bullets as an assistant to Pasuwa in 2019 before leaving the club to Join South African outfit Black Leopard as an assistant coach under head coach Alejandra Dorado in 2023.
He was later elevated to the head coach position of the Leopards same year, 2023 after team’s poor results before returning home, joining Silver Strikers in February 2024.
