The Malawi Schools Sports Association (MASSA) says it is ready to host its 2024 National Championship games slated to take place in Mzuzu from Friday, August 16 to Sunday, 18th August 2024.
MASSA President Blackson Malamula told the Atlas Malawi that all participating teams have confirmed their preparedness to showcase their skills.
“We are set and prepared to have national finals starting from Friday and will go up to Sunday where we will have seven different sports discipline. We have athletics, chess, parathletics, netball, volleyball, basketball and also football”
“Talking of format, the athletes will be competing in different age groups, we are talking of Primary as well as Secondary” said Malamula
Malamula further urged people from the North to patronize the games in large numbers since the tournament will be hosted in their base for the first time in years.
Last month the MASSA boss announced it’s plans of using this year’s National Championship to select squad that will represent Malawi in this year’s Confederation of Southern Africa Sports Association (Cossasa) slated for September, in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
