Speaking at the solemn event, UTM Secretary General Patricia Kaliyati expressed deep appreciation for the president’s assistance throughout this challenging period.

She highlighted the president’s continuous presence and support, emphasizing the importance of solidarity during such times of grief.

“The president has been incredibly supportive during this difficult time. His assistance has been invaluable, and we are truly grateful,” Kaliyati remarked.

She went on to acknowledge the presence and support of former presidents Joyce Banda and Bakili Muluzi, recognizing their roles in standing with the UTM family in their time of sorrow.

Kaliyati’s speech also carried a broader message for all Malawians.
