TN Stars paired with Wimbe and Airborne on their return to Chipiku Football

TN Stars have been drawn in the tough group alongside Wimbe United and Airborne Rangers in the 2023 Chipiku Premier Division League qualifying draw.

48 member teams from both Premier Division and Division One were involved in a draw, held on Sunday afternoon at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.

TN Stars who were demoted from the elite League to Chipiku Central Region Premier Division will be hoping to right the wrongs but their route will not going to be a walkover.

The Kasungu based side will face a real torrid test as they take on tough opponents Wimbe United and Airborne in Group C of the preliminary round.

For Silver Strikers Reserves who finished as last season runners up, they have been put in another group comprising of fellow Lilongwe giants Luanar FC and Kamuzu Barracks Reserves in Group B.

In Group A, there will be tough battles between Military side Support Battalion, Mbabzi United, Dwangwa United and St. Gabriel Medicals.

Speaking after the draw, CRFA General Secretary Benard Harawa was satisfied with the draw.

“A fair draw, we have divided teams into three groups comprising of 8 teams and after facing each other in a League basis, the top four teams will qualify to the last round where 12 teams will battle it out to produce 2023 Champion” said Harawa

And in Division One, group A has teams like Balang’ombe Real Bombers who facing other familiar teams like Kasungu Police and Mitundu Strikers.

Green Rangers have been put in Group B alongside Obings Pirates and Blue Eagles Reserve while the Group C of Division One football consists of tough forces like Makesure Pirates, Kasiya Hungry Lions and Lizulu Super Stars.

Below is the full groups setup for the 2023 Chipiku Premier Division and Division One Preliminary round groups:

3. Dwangwa Utd
4. Dedza young Soccer
5.St. Gabriel Medicals
6. Play Football Malawi
7.Support Battalion
8.Panthers
