The family of former Vice president, late Saulos Chilima has urged Malawians to desist from spreading fake news on his death.

Speaking at Nsipe Catholic Ground in Ntcheu during a special memorial mass for the late UTM president, family representative Joshua Varela asked for respect as they are still mourning.

“Let’s give respect to our late relative, who was the country’s vice president. We should desist from spreading fake news, or things that will anger relatives who are still mourning,” he said

Further, Varela said the family does not harbor government or political positions.
