“Silver Strikers approached me a while ago and we have been in touch for some time now to finalise everything. I understand very much that I get a position which brings pressure on me but pressure is well defeated with hard work. I will make sure that I put in the work and see how it turns out. I cannot wait to meet the technical team to set the ball rolling”, Mponda said.

The Silver Strikers Chief Executive Officer, Patrick Chimimba said the club did its home work to get a coach that would bring out results and Mponda’s name came out best.

Chimimba said this is part of preparations for the new season and has since pledged all the necessary support to the new gaffer to succeed.

“We are glad today to announce Mr Mponda as our head coach going forward and we believe that he is the perfect fit for our club and what we believe in. Silver Strikers will provide all the necessary available resources for him to make headway and succeed in his position”, he said.B

efore leaving the country, Mponda who holds a CAF B Coaching licence, was serving as FCB Nyasa Big Bullet’s assistant coach.
