Levison Maganizo has completed his return to Silver Strikers after being unveiled on Thursday afternoon as he has reunited with his former coach, Peter Mponda.

The two worked together during their time at SureStream Academy and Wizard FC before Maganizo secured a move to Area 47 based team in 2016.

Maganizo was playing for Kamuzu Barracks last year and he has penned a five-months deal with the Silver Strikers as a free agent. Before joining the Chiwoko-based Soldiers, Maganizo played for Silver Strikers from 2016 to 2022. During that spell he won the Airtel Top 8 twice (2017 & 2019) and the 2021 FDH Cup.

Maganizo’s return to the Club has been initiated by Mponda who is eager to have a strong squad in the second round.

Silver sign Nigerian striker

The Bankers did not sign Maganizo only on Thursday, they also announced the arrival of the Nigerian striker, Friday Osagie who has joined the Club from Bangwe All Stars.

Osagie has signed a two-year contract with Silver and said he is looking forward to pay back the trust that the team has put into him.

“I am thrilled to join Silver Strikers today and this is a dream come true for me to play in a team like Silver Strikers. I pledge that I will do my best to return the trust that the club has shown by getting my services,” said Osagie.

Silver have unfinished business on the market

Despite landing the two players, Silver Strikers are aiming at signing one more player in their quest to boost their squad as they are strong contenders to win the league this season.

Peter Mponda has asked the administration to give him three new players- one defending midfielder, an attacking midfielder and a striker.

The Club’s Chief Executive Officer, Patrick Chimimba said the Club is committed to supporting the technical panel as they chase their dream this season.

“As we committed to supporting the coach in the best possible way this season, we have made huge strides in our discussions with teams and player managers from our wish list. So, yes, we will definitely have additions in this transfer window,” he said.

The Bankers are leading the 2024 TNM Super League table after collecting 37 points from 15 games- they are 9 points safe following Mighty Mukuru Wanderers’ 2-0 win over the struggling Baka City FC.

The league leaders boast of being the high-scoring side with 34 goals scored with Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Kamuzu Barracks coming second after scoring 20 goals each. On the defending end, Silver Strikers has proved to be one of the best defensive sides as they have only conceded nine goals.
