Lilongwe City Council clean Civo Stadium ahead of Ku Mingoli Bash

The Lilongwe City Council (LCC) led residents in cleaning up exercise surrounding Civo Stadium ahead of Ku Mingoli bash slated for August 3, 2024.

The exercise took place along M1 road behind Civo Stadium where the event will be hosted as part of partnership between LCC and organizers of Ku Mingoli Bash, the Sound Addicts.

Lilongwe City Mayor Esther Sagawa and her deputy Ruth Chingwalu were among officials from the Council who led the sweeping exercise.

In her speech, Sagawa said the exercise was organized as a reminder for everyone to take responsibility of always keeping places clean.

“The message us to clearly tell them that whenever they’re having any kind events, they have to make sure that they take responsibility of keeping places clean, thus before and after conducting events” she said

In addition to it’s support towards the event, the LCC will also provide its 60 workers who are going to help with cleaning the venue during and after the event.

In return, Sound Addicts Live has donated eight waste bins, boots and shovels worthy K1.5 million.

Speaking at a briefing soon after the sweeping exercise, lead organizer of the event, Shadreck Kalukusha expressed excitement with the support from the City Council.

Kalukusha further disclosed that the preparations for the event have reached final stages.

“We started our preparations in terms of the setup around the stadium on Monday and we’re now on the third day of our preparations.

“As you can see the stage is already up. This is one of the biggest stages that has been set up by Malawians, a 30 meters by 30. We’re going to have five big screens and 200 lights and interms of security, we have over 150 men deployed, adding to the security by the police”

“All artists have confirmed their availability, others have already started coming, we are very confident that we are going to have a very good event and we’re happy to announce that we’re fully prepared for this event” said Kalukusha

According to Kalukusha, they have received late boost after the coming in of TNM plc and Castel ltd with substantial sponsorships to the event.

This year’s, the annual music festival brings on stage Tay Grin, Namadingo, Black Missionaries Band, Lulu, Zeze Kingstone, Temwah, Tuno, Charisma, Fada Moti, Saint, Gwamba among other musicians.
