The sponsors for the K70 million Cup, Nyasa Capital Finance have appealed to the soccer fraternity to exercise fair play when the competition kicks off this weekend.

Director for Nyasa Capital Finance Ronald Chiwaula made the remarks today after conducting a draw for the Central Region teams.

“We want to emphasize, Nyasa Capital Finance is a financial institution as such we don’t want that our product should be associated with hooliganism because where there’s hooliganism people lose life, people get injured so we don’t want to be associated with that” said Chiwaula

Asked if there’s the possibility of extending the sponsorship which is due to expire by the end of this season, Chiwaula said it’s up to the management to decide the way forward.

In his remarks, Central Region Football Association Vice General Secretary Antonio Manda said he expects a very competitive season as the sponsors have hiked this year’s package from K65 million to K70 million.

Out of 32 teams in the competition, 24 are Premier Division teams and the top 8 teams in CRFA division one.
