The Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) has assured students pursuing the Initial Primary Teacher Education (IPTE) 18 program that their examination results for the 2025 Primary Teacher Certificate of Education (PTCE) will be released in due course.

The students, who sat for the exams in April 2025, are eagerly awaiting the results to apply for 26,284 primary school teacher vacancies advertised by the Ministry of Local Government.

MANEB Public Relations Officer Angella Kashitigu explained that the examination results are still being processed and quality assurance processes take about three months.

“Examination results for the 2025 Primary Teacher Certificate of Education (PTCE) examinations written in April 2025 are still being processed and will take about three months before results are released to the public,” Kashitigu said in a written response.

The students are confident that they will be among the new recruits once their exam results are released, enabling them to apply for the teaching positions and start their careers as primary school teachers.

“We are confident of being part of the recruits once MANEB releases our exams, giving us a chance to join the new batch of teachers,” said one of the IPTE 18 students.

The prospect of securing teaching positions has generated excitement among the students, who are hopeful that their hard work will pay off.

The Teachers Union of Malawi (TUM) Secretary General, Charles Kumchenga, had earlier praised the massive promotion of primary school teachers, describing it as a motivating factor for educators.

The release of the IPTE 18 exam results will be a crucial step in determining the future careers of these aspiring teachers.

With MANEB’s assurance, the students can look forward to receiving their results and taking the next step in their teaching careers.
