Civo Service United General Secretary Ronald Chiwaula says he is vying for the Sulom Executive position at the forthcoming elective Annual General Meeting just for 2 main reasons.
In an interview with The Atlas, Chiwaula has confirmed that he will contest for the post of Executive Member come February 25 in Mangochi.
“Yes I will be standing for the position of Executive member as I look to graduate from Club to o National level” said Chiwaula when asked to confirm his candidacy.
“As Executive member my duty will be to remind the president to fulfill his campaign promises. I think this has been the challenge as Executive Members have been sleeping on duty, we need serious people who will be working tirelessly helping the president to work on the promises”
“And again there has been an issue of fixtures management, clubs have been complaining so I will help to find solutions on this issue so that we match what other countries are doing” said Chiwaula
When asked which presidential aspirant he has endorsed between incumbent Tiya Somba Banda and Fleetwood Haiya, Chiwaula declined to comment saying he is not aware of people forming different camps ahead of the elections.
The SULOM elections are scheduled to take place in Mangochi on 25th February and Chiwaula has become the second candidate openly declare his desire to contest for the post of Executive following Kamuzu Barracks’ vice Team Manager William Nhlane.
Interestingly incumbent Executive Member Allie Mwachande will be seeking to elevate himself as he declared his intention to contest for the post of Treasurer which is being held by Malinda Chinyama.
No candidate has declared his interest to challenge Williams Banda for the post of General Secretary.
