he Malawi national men’s football team left back Noshard Chimbalanga has been ruled out of Saudi Arabia camping en route to Cairo where they’re expected to face Egypt in AFCON qualifiers due to an Injury sustained during Flames 1-1 draw with Lesotho last Saturday.
The MAFCO FC star was stretched off and replaced by Gilbert Chirwa midway in the second half following a knock before he was seen in a plaster of Paris.
Meanwhile the Flames have recalled Scotland based leftback Kieran Ngwenya who last played for the team in June 2021 against Tanzania.
FAM Technical Support Manager James Sangala has confirmed that the FC Aberdeen player, who is on loan at Raith Rovers, has been given a green light by both Rovers and his parent club to join the Flames in Saudi Arabia.
“We wrote Aberdeen for the release of the player and they have officially given us a go ahead to take him to Saudi Arabia after they discussed with his new club and the player himself. We are now making arrangements to fly him to Saudi”, said Sangala
Apart from Ngwenya, the team is also set to welcome back FCB Nyasa Bullets dou of leftback Precious Sambani and rightback Gomezgani Chirwa who missed the Lesotho game due to injuries they sustained during training last week.
According to Sangala, the final traveling squad will be announced next week before leaving for a two week camp enroute to Cairo to face the Pharaohs on Friday March 24.
