After taking a 2 year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic,organisers of Umhlangano an annual event for the Maseko Ngoni have announced a return of the festival this year.
Umhlangano is a an annual event in which the Maseko Ngoni’s converge at the headquarters of the Maseko Ngoni chief Inkosi Ya Makosi at Lizulu to celebrate their culture.
Announcing the return of the event, Chairperson of Maseko Ngoni Heritage Inkosi said the event returns this year and will be staged from 1-3 September.
“Iam delighted to confirm to you that the ceremony will be back this year and it will take place at our headquarters in Luzulu and for this year Umhlangano will be held together with the 10 years anniversary celebration as Inkosi ya Makhosi Gomani V will be clocking the 10th year on the throne’, said Makwangwala.
Meanwhile, Makwangwala is calling upon financial support from well wishers for the initiative.
“For this year’s invent to be more successful we need K74million and it’s our appeal to the general public to support us financially” said Makwangwala.
The Umhlangano wa Maseko cultural event was founded by Inkosi ya Makhosi Gomani V to promote, celebrate and appreciate the Maseko Ngoni culture.
