The TNM Super League week 28 produced 12 goals in six matches.
The gap at the summit between leaders Nyasa Big Bullets and second placed Blue Eagles remains 8 points after two side played out a 1-1 draw on Saturday.
We take a look at some major talking points of the week 28:
EKWENDENI FINALLY TASTES DEFEAT
Ekwendeni United’s fine form under new coach Gilbert Chirwa came to end as they were finally beaten 2-1 by Mighty Wanderers on Sunday.
The Hammers had gone 5 games without defeat coming into sunday’s match.
MISFIRING BLLETS
League leaders Nyasa Big Bullets dropped points for the third game in a row as they were held to a 1-1 draw by second placed Blue Eagles FC.
Despite maintaining an 8 point gap over second placed Eagles, that draw should worry Coach Kalisto Pasuwa as that was the first time this season his troops have failed to win a league game on 3 attempts.
SULUMBA’S SHOW.
Mighty Wanderers forward Muhammad Sulumba made his intentions clear to bag home the top goal scorer award as his goal helped Mighty Wanderers cruise to a hard fought 2-1 victory over Ekwendeni Hammers.
That goal means he has opened a 2 goal gap over his closest challengers Chawanangwa Kaonga and Babatunde Adepoju who both have 12 goals.
TN STARS END 9-GAMES WINLESS RUN
TN Stars beat Rumphi United 2-0 to end a 9 game winless run though victory was not enough to move the Kasungu based side out of the relegation as they still remain 15th.
TN’s last win came on 10 July when they defeated Blue Eagles 1-0.
BABATUNDE’S GOAL DROUGHT
Nyasa Big Bullets forward Babatunde Adepoju missed an opportunity to close in on top goal scorer Muhammad Sulumba as the Nigerian failed to hit the target in Bullets’ 1-1 draw against Blue Eagles.
It’s now 270 minutes of football without a goal for the one time leading goal scorer.
