Second placed Silver Strikers are set to sign at least six new players in the current transfer window to boost their squad as the current season heads into the second round.

After the elapse of the first round, the Superleague of Malawi (SULOM) announced a two weeks transfer window from 2nd August to 15th August 2023.

Speaking after unveiling their first signing on Saturday, Silver Strikers Company Limited Board member Dr Lameck Chinula said the team’s technical panel has shortlisted six players to be ropped in to join the Area 47 side.

The team has signed former Mighty Wakawaka Tigers attacker George Chaomba at undisclosed fee for three years.

Dr Chinula said discussions with the other five players are at an advanced stage and they are confident of their arrival at the team.

“After the first round the technical panel headed by Pieter de Jongh made recommendations and as a board we are following those recommendations that’s why we have tied in Chaomba today. The technical panel suggested four names in the attacking department, one midfielder and one defender. We are looking forward to sign five more players during this transfer. We will be coming to announce the other players as we are still in talks with their clubs”, Dr Chinula said.

Silver Strikers kick start their second round fixtures at home against Blue Eagles on the 6th of August.
