Abdul-Rahim Kamwana:
As one way of providing financial services in the country, NBS Bank says it aims to enhance access for MSMEs by offering business expertise to specific segments.
The remarks were made by Chief Wholesale Banking Officer Alfred Nhlema at the launch of Business Banking, which has been renamed from SME Banking. He further said that, as a bank, they noted there is significant potential for their customers in business.
“It’s not just a change in the name. We have specialized business banking into thirteen segments, among them education, healthcare, construction, mining, and agriculture, to provide expertise and deliver better solutions.” Added Nhlema.
Business Banking has also been developed in partnership with UN Women as one way to provide them with access to finance and capital.
Speaking on her part, UN Women Country Representative, Letty Chiwara, said this is an opportunity for women, as Business Banking will provide financial inclusion for them.
