Mzimba Luwerezi MP applauded for taking his constituents’ football players to watch Flames vs Egypt game

Minister of Sports and Youths, Uchi Mkandawire has commended Mzimba Luwerezi Member of Parliament (MP), Sam Chirwa for taking a step in putting football in his area on the map.

The minister’s remarks followed Chirwa’s decision to take his constituents football players to watch national football team match against the Pharaohs, Egypt on Tuesday.

The country’s national football team, the Flames is expected to play with Egypt national team in the AFCON qualifiers competition at Bingu National Stadium (BNS) tomorrow on Tuesday.

Chirwa announced his decision on Monday saying he believe that the players will gain something worth after watching the game.

“The bus is already ready and players have been told in advance. What I want is to have strong team in my constituency that will produce super players to the national team,” said Chirwa.

Chirwa who has beem holding number of football and netball trophies in his area said his aim is to make sure that the players goal are achieved.

Reacting to the development, Minister Mkandawire said what the Mzimba MP has done will make the players to from his constituency to be the next national team players.

Flames is expected to host Egypt in the second round after defeated 2 nil in Egypt on Friday last week
