Social media influencer, Julius Mithi is likely to face charges related to Electronic Transactions and Cyber Security Act.
He was arrested on Tuesday afternoon.
National Police spokesperson Peter Kalaya said his arrest follows complaints complaints from the National Registration BUreau (NRB) but also Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC).
“The complaints were to do with his Facebook post of March 19 2025 where he alleged that that NRB and MEC deleted names of some people in their systems,” he said

Kakaya said Mithi is likely to be taken to court within 48 hours.
