MCP’s Zomba City South aspirant submits nomination papers

Patricia Nangozo Kainga, an aspiring Member of Parliament for Zomba City South Constituency under the Malawi Congress Party (MCP), has officially submitted her nomination papers to the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC).

The submission ceremony took place at St. Joseph Girls Primary School on Friday.

Speaking to the media afterward, Kainga expressed confidence in her campaign, stating that she is poised to win the seat in the upcoming election scheduled for September 16.

Kainga emphasized that the people of Zomba City South have a vital opportunity to elect a leader focused on development, particularly one who prioritizes education for the youth.

She urged MCP supporters to remain united and to conduct peaceful, respectful campaign activities.

On women’s empowerment, Kainga acknowledged the challenges many women face and pledged to support them by providing startup capital for small businesses, should she be elected.

In the area of sports, she promised to promote various activities, including boys’ football, girls’ netball, chess, and pool. She plans to organize local competitions that will help young people discover and develop their talents.

“I began implementing development initiatives back in 2014, including vocational training for youth in skills like welding, construction, and carpentry. I have also been supporting underprivileged students by paying their school fees, and I intend to continue these efforts”Said Kainga.

Kainga criticized her opponents, stating that they have failed to bring meaningful change to the constituency.

She also positioned herself as the most promising candidate for the area.

Three major political parties ,DPP, UTM, and the Malawi Congress Party are vying for the Zomba City South parliamentary seat.
