National Bank of Malawi, which almost two months ago, gave the Epic Life Style sponsorship amounting to K40 million for a music concert won PR Innovation award.

All winners were presented with a trophy and a certificate.

Khanje, MISA-Malawi former chairperson, was all smiles following cheers from fellow PR practitioners for his achievement.

In an interview, PRSM President Benson Linje said the awards were meant to celebrate individuals and organisations doing outstanding jobs in communicating various programmes.

“This should be the message to all PR officers that people see and hear what we do,” Linje said, adding, “unlike previously, this year, individuals or organizations were able to nominate themselves besides being nominated by others in line with the set criteria.”

He called on PR practitioners to strive for excellence as this would promote competitiveness in the profession.

Receiving the most ATI Compliance Organization award on behalf of MEC, Chikondi Pinto said the commission was happy with the recognition.

“We’re very happy that we have won the award on top of the Media Institute for Southern Africa MISA Golden Key award for being the most transparent public institution,” she added.

Pinto said the MEC would still strive to be as transparent as possible to provide information to the public through many avenues.

“We run an e-mailing list of over 6,000 people and we constantly share information besides having a website and other social media platforms,” she added.

All the winners were presented with certificates and trophies.
