Kamuzu Barracks Football Club have unveiled striker John Mchema from Dedza District League side, Lobi Young Soccer.
Kamuzu Barracks Team Manager, Alick Tushera, confirmed to The Atlas Malawi that the young striker signed his contract on Sunday morning.
Tushera said John Mchema has penned a three-year contract with the military side.
“Indeed, we have been assessing him for a while and after his impressive performance we have decided to give him a three year contract” said Tushera.
Hours after signing, Mchema was on target twice, helping Kamuzu Barracks beat FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in a friendly match played at Champion Stadium in Mponera, Dowa.
Mchema, gave his team the lead just three minutes into the first have before completing his brace four minutes later.
Kamuzu Barracks coach Nicholas Mhango hailed Mchema after the match.
“Iam very excited with the performance of our new players especially, Mchema who scored today against a big team like Bullets” said Mhango.
Mchema attracted attention of Kamuzu Barracks technical panel weeks ago, when he scored a hatrick against Kamuzu Barracks while playing for Lobi Young Soccer.
Mchema is seen as a perfect replacement of Zeliat Nkhoma who left the Club to join Zambian side, Red Arrows.
