Chipiku Premier Division League outfit Kawinga Football Club has revealed it’s intent of getting TNM Super League promotion by the end of this season.
The team’s Team Leader Joe Mwase told The Atlas Malawi on the sidelines of the team’s dinner hosted by the club’s owner and Patron, Apostle Clifford Kawinga on Wednesday at Bombay Restaurant in Lilongwe.
Mwase was officially introduced as the team leader at the event, making him the club’s lead on Kawinga’s behalf.
“The Patron Apostle Kawinga saw it necessary to say thanks to the players and officials for the fine start of the season as you are aware that since the start of Chipiku Premier Division League we have just lost once out of all games we have played and we lead the Group C with 12 points.
“I think this is one way of motivating the boys to work extra hard as the owner aims at nothing short of TNM Super League promotion,” said Mwase
Club captain Lazarus Chirwa promised to work hard and get Super League promotion in return to whatever the management is doing to them.
“We are very thankful to the sponsor for all their support to us. Apart from what we get today everything is going on smoothly and we are happy as players just to let you know that we are all under contracts which is great for Division players so I think if we qualify to Super League next season that will be a great reward to the sponsor,” said Chirwa
30 players including officials received one hundred thousand kwacha each as appropriation for their current form.
Kawinga Football Club currently leads the group C of K16.5 Million Chipiku Premier Division League with 12 points from 5 games. And this Saturday is playing Ngolowindo fc and Kamuzu Barracks ground.
