FAM retains Malawi U-20 Coaching staff ahead of 2025 AFCON Cosafa Qualifiers

The Football Association of Malawi has announced that the coaches who won the Four-Nation tournament in March this year have been retained following the team’s performance in the tournament.

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Assistant Coach, Bob Mpinganjira has retained his position as the Head Coach for Malawi U-20 National Team and has been tasked to lead the team at this year’s Cosafa Cup| African Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

“The Football Association of Malawi has kept faith in the coaching staff, retaining the panel that guided the team to their recent triumph,” announces the Association.

This means that Bob will be assisted by Milias Jegwe Pofera and Bullets Reserves coach, Enos Chatama. Mcdonald Yobe will continue as the team’s fitness trainer while Nicholas Mhango and is the Team Manager.

Malawi U-20 National Team is scheduled to report for camp on Monday, September 9, 2024 at the Mpira Village in Blantyre to prepare for the AFCON Under 20 Cosafa Qualifer to be staged in Mozambique later this month and Malawi has been placed in Group C alongside South Africa, Comoros, and Lesotho.

The technical panel led by Mpinganjira has named a 30-man provisional squad for the tournament and about 16 players return from the March competition, ready to bring their experience to the upcoming tournament.
