Extreme FC have slenderest chances of surviving in the TNM Super League despite a 3-2 victory over Bangwe All Stars as Ekwendeni Hammers held FCB Nyasa Big Bullets to a 1-1 draw at Rumphi Stadium.

Babangida Ishaya, Tony Phiri and Beston Jimu each scored for Extreme FC at Nankhaka Stadium to help their team reach 18 points but they remain at the bottom of the table while Ekwendeni’s draw lifted them to 30 points and they sit a step above relegation zone.

With just four games to go for both teams, chances for Extreme FC needs favors from elsewhere to survive in the league.

The Mchinji based side know the job they have to do as getting to 30 points from their final four games will all but get them safe.

This means 12 points from their final four games – against Chitipa United, Red Lions, Blue Eagles and Kamuzu Barracks. Any slip will confirm their relegation from the top flight League.

On the other hand, Extreme will be hoping that Ekwendeni Hammers should lose all their remaining four games against Civil Service United, Red Lions FC, Dedza Dynamos and Silver Strikers.

But despite having a slight chance of remaining in the League, Extreme FC coach Andrew Bunya seemed he has rulled his team out of surviving in the league.

“Atleast three points in our bag can only prove a point that we’re a good side though we are not at a good position”

“We still have got four games that’s 12 points so we just need to win those games to prove that we were a better side” said Bunya.

Bangwe All Stars who struggled alot for the better part of the match, improved in the last 20 minutes where they nearly recorded a dramatic comeback but Emmanuel Saviel and Kondwani Chilembwe strikes weren’t enough to hand them something out of the match.

Their coach Abel Mkandawire conceded that it wasn’t their day.

“We started lowly and we easily conceded goals but we improved in the second half where we scored twice though not enough to force a draw or win” said Mkandawire

Bangwe All Stars occupies ninth position with 32 points from 25 games.
