The Chief Resident Magistrate Patrick Chirwa seating in Lilongwe has ruled that Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife, Mary, must be returned to South Africa to face their charges.
Bushiri is facing three charges of rape, as well as charges of forgery, fraud, and jumping bail. Mary is also charged with fraud, forgery, and bail-jumping.
Additionally, the court has ordered that the couple remain in custody until they are handed over to South African authorities.
However, some charges—including theft, money laundering, and racketeering—were dropped due to insufficient evidence.
