Prophet Prophet Shepherd Bushiri said he has seen victory after Senior Resident Magistrate Madalitso Chimwaza allowed him to go back home despite ordering for his extradition to South Africa.
The Magistrate further ordered for that Bushiri, together with his wife, Mary should be remanded before the extradition process is done.
Later, after their lawyer Wapona Kita applied for a 30-day stay order on the ruling pending an appeal, the court granted their wish.
The court referred the matter of bail to the High Court, as the Magistrate’s Court does not have jurisdiction to grant bail to fugitives.
The defense is expected to apply for bail during the stay order, as directed by the Magistrate’s Court. This means the Bushiris will remain on bail.
Writing on his Facebook page, Bushiri said they have just received a remarkable victory.
“I stand before you today with a heart full of gratitude and praise to our Almighty God. We have just received a remarkable victory in our court case, and I want to share this testimony with you.
“As you may know, we were facing 13 cases in court. But God, in His infinite wisdom and power, has caused the court to dismiss 10 of those cases due to lack of evidence! Only 3 cases remain, and we have been granted a stay of the ruling until we appeal to the High Court of Malawi.
“This is a tremendous victory, and we give all the glory to God. His ways are indeed supreme, and He works wonders in our lives. We are humbled and grateful for His faithfulness and intervention in our affairs.
“This victory is not just about us; it’s about the advancement of God’s kingdom and the spread of the Gospel. It’s a testament to the power of prayer and the faithfulness of our God.
‘I want to thank each and every one of you for your prayers, support, and encouragement throughout this journey. Your prayers have been a source of strength to us, and we are grateful for your partnership in the Gospel.
“As we move forward, we will continue to trust in God’s sovereignty and providence. We will appeal to the High Court, and we are confident that God will see us through. Let us continue to pray and trust in God’s goodness. Let us rejoice in this victory and give thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” he said
The Bushiris were arrested in the Republic of South Africa in October 2020. However, they left the Republic of South Africa and fled to Malawi in November 2020.
