Minister of Information and Digitalization Moses Kumkuyu has announced that the remains of State Vice President Saulos Chilima will be laid to rest on Monday June 17, 2024 in Nsipe, Ntcheu.
Kumkuyu made the announcements today at the Office of the President and Cabinet at Capital Hill in Lilongwe.
Kumkuyu further announced that the former first lady, Patricia Shanil Muluzi will be buried with full military honours on Friday in Balaka.
Meanwhile, UTM Secretary General, Patricia Kaliati has appealed to the General Public to stop sharing sensitive photos of the late State Vice President, Dr. Saulos Chilima.
Kaliati made the appeal during party’s first official address since the death of their leader, Chilima who was killed together with nine others in plane clash last Monday in Mzimba.
“We rebuke the sharing of sensitive photos of Chilima at the scene of the crash. Let people show respect the vice president deserves,” said Kaliati.
Furthermore, Kaliati has called for an investigation into circumstances that led to the plane crash.
She also announced that the party is involving an independent inquiry into the postmortem of the remains of their leader.
