A woman, Tawonga Kayira, is accusing Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) president, Enock Chihana, of fraudulently selling her a piece of land belonging to his sister.
Writing on her Facebook page, Kayira claims that Chihana sold the land without the blessing of his sister, who is currently based in Kenya.
“Enoch Chihana, you have no shame as a potential president. You fraudulently sold a plot belonging to your sister Tawonga Chihana who is based in Kenya and who refused that he had authorised you to sell it. You refused that we start work on the land and you also refused to refund the money,” said Kayira, who claimed that Chihana received K20 million in December last year.
However, Chihana said the claims are just career ahead of September general elections.
He said proper procedures were followed, including a contractual agreement.
“The agreement was that the buyer would make an initial payment of K20 million out of the K30 million total price of the land, and upon settling the balance, the land documents would be handed over.
“However, the buyer failed to honor the agreement and went further by posting an advert on social media platforms seeking the services of sheriffs to recover the money,” Chihana told Timveni Online in an interview
He did not elaborate if the contract said he is to pay back the K20 million if the buyer fails to settle the raining balance.
