Malawian Culture is still enjoying the global stage, courtesy of the country’s renowned urban music artist, Tay Grin, AKA the Nyau King, whose newly released hit song “Tcha” massively portrays the local cultural content through costume and dancing codes.

Released on 10 June this year, “Tcha” has already enjoyed multiple likes and downloads from both national and international audience.

Tay Grin, real name Limbani Kalirani has delivered quality music videos over and over again, the music video has a special taste of African culture aspects with the costumes and part of Chewa dance which it features.

Speaking in an interview with Malawi News Agency (MANA) on Monday, Grin emphasized the need for the public to support ideas of pushing Malawi’s culture to the world saying to do so is not a one-man job.

“Culture is very important and has given me an identity unique around the world. The Nyau king’s mission is always to promote where he comes from as well as to promote the industry” he said.

From the start, the singer’s focus has always been Malawian culture and through his music he showcases that Malawi is blessed with art and create a sound that is authentically Malawian.

In another interview, Musician Bucci, concurred with Grin and said his inspiration is in sharing Malawians culture through arts.

“Music is indeed a tool we ought to highly value and use to publicize our culture globally. I believe arts in general is the most influential way” he said.
