High Court Judge Justice Glady Gondwe is, next week, June 19 expected to deliver a ruling on whether former president Peter Mutharika’s stepson, Tadikira Mafubza and seven others have a case to answer or not.
The accused are facing 12 counts which collectively form two charges of aggravated manslaughter and trafficking in persons.
The others are Aubrey Dukes, Arnold Mwakiyela, Boniface Ngulube, Duncan Kalulu, David Luhanga, Thomas Kazembe, and Samuel Navaya.
According to communication by the court’s assistant registrar, the Judge is expected to deliver her ruling at 2pm.
Tadikira and other accused persons were arrested following the discovery of 30 bodies in Mtangatanga Forest in Mzimba on October 18 2022.
The remains of the victims, allegedly Ethiopian nationals were exhumed from a grave located within forest.
Police said all victims were male aged between 25 and 40.
