Support Battalion fell 2-0 to Airborne Rangers to crash out of the Nyasa Capital Finance Cup at the round of 32 stage.

Madalitso Chisale and Chifundo Molosoni were on target for the Rangers to win a big crash between military sides at Fikiza Ground on Sunday afternoon.

Apart from celebrating winning and qualification into next round, Airborne Rangers have also preserved their excellent form over Support Battalion to the delight of their coach Julias Makwinja.

“They said they were coming for a revenge since we have been defeating them but they have failed” said Makwinja.

Rangers win means they will face the winner between Mchinji Boma Strikers and Ekas Freight Wanderers which Makwinja believes will be a walk over.

“Looking at our opponents in the round of 16 I don’t see us loosing, we will make it into the quarter final of this year’s edition” he added

On his part Support Battalion coach Temwa Msuku conceded the defeat to their fellow soldiers.

“Let me accept the defeat, let me congratulate Airborne for their 2-0 win — it was a good game, we dominated play in the first half until early minutes of the second half but we conceded a silly goal that let us down” said Msuku

The game between Airborne Rangers and Support Battalion was used as launch for this year’s Nyasa Capital Finance Cup edition which it’s price money has been improved to K70 million from last year’s K65 million.
