As usual, week 25 of the TNM Super League produced a number of goals, teams dropping points and others going up the log table.
Since the signing of an agreement between Super League of Malawi (SULOM) and Farmers Organisation Limited (FOL) seven footballers went home K30 000 richer each for being named player of the match.
The agreement will see FOL dishing out K30 000 to all players of the match for super league matches.
Tigers Striker was the hero of week 25 banging his first ever hatrick in Tigers’ 5-0 thrashing of relegation threatened Rumphi United at Mpira United.
At Champion Stadium in Mponela MAFCO’s Bernard Chimaimba took home his player of the match award as his side played out to a goaless draw against fellow soldiers Kamuzu Barracks.
While at Kasungu stadium, despite his side succumbing to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the visiting Ekwendeni Hammers, TN Stars’ Chisomo Sambani had something to smile about as he took home his player of the match accolade.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Civo’s Patrick Phiri was named player of the match in a thrilling encounter in which the Civil servants shared the spoils with Moyale Barracks in a 2-2 draw.
At Mpira Stadium Sable’s Sunganani Geoffrey bagged home his player of the match accolade as his side eased to a 2-0 victory over Rumphi United.
At Bingu Stadium former Mighty Wanderers defender Erick Atsigah pocketed his accolade after his wonderful display for Karonga United frustrated home side Silver strikers in a goaless draw while at Nankhaka ground Blue Eagles forward Gaddie Chirwa inspired his side to a convincing 2-0 victory over Red Lions.
SULOM President Tiya Somba has however disclosed that arrangements are being made to have miniatures for the week 25 awardees handed over within the soonest time possible.
