Sound Addicts ready to host Burning Spear

Sound Addicts, one of the organizers for the Burning Spear live performance in Malawi, says preparations for the event are advancing well.

Sound Addicts founder Shadreck Kalukusha has confirmed this during a press briefing held on Monday in Lilongwe.

Kalukusha said the show for the legendary Jamaican Reggae artist will take place on October 26th at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe, courtesy of Born African Productions and Sound Addicts Live.

According to Kalukushi, this will be part of Burning Spear’s tour to Africa celebration of unity, peace and love – core message of Burning Spear’s music.

The tour marks Burning Spear’s triumphant return to Africa, with performances in Zimbabwe, South Africa, and the grand finale in Malawi.

“This event is burning spare African tour, we just happen that we are organizing here in Malawi and partners him but this is his own function, he is coming to perform here in Malawi for his own Malawian fans”

“He’s coming with his team of 17 people from Jamaica, the band section and backing singers and everyone else you can expect on a full live band” said Kalukusha

However, Kalukusha announced that tickets are now available on Kwenda.co

He further called upon sponsors to join them in making the historic event possible.

Recently, Sound Addicts hosted a successful annual music festival(dubbed Kumingoli) at Civo stadium where they brought together popular local artists including Tay Grin, Namadingo, Black Missionaries Band and many other.

Winston Rodney, better known by the stage name ‘Burning Spear’, is a Jamaican roots reggae singer-songwriter, vocalist, and musician.

He is a an award winning artist with various hit songs to his name.

Spear is a Rastafarian and one of the most influential and long-standing roots artists to emerge from the 1970’s.
