Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Board and Company Secretary, Chancy Gondwe has demanded improved performances from all Wanderers players after the team secured new sponsorship deal.
Speaking at Mount Sochi in Blantyre after signing one year partnership deal with Smile Life Insurance that will see each Mighty Mukuru Wanderers player receiving K150 000 per game plus a miniature when they are voted Man of the Match, Gondwe said he is expecting improved performances from all players.
“We don’t want to see only one player grabbing the award, so I would like to urge all Wanderers players to work hard” said Gondwe
On his part, Smile Life Insurance Company Chief Executive Officer, Stain Singo believes the partnership will help to improve performance of the Lali Lubani outfit.
“Wanderers is one of the biggest club on the land and as such we see business opportunities by partnering with them. We are very hopeful that the sponsorship will enhance the performance of the game more especially within Wanderers camp” he said
Forward Christopher Kumwembe became the first player to receive the K150 000 after being named Man of the Match during Wanderers’ 2023 Super League opening match against Civil Service United which was played at Kamuzu Stadium last Sunday.
This comes barely a week after The Nomads announced a hooping K760 million joint sponsorship for the next two seasons from Mukuru and Ekhaya Farm Foods.
