Police in Lilongwe have arrested Officers director for Eagles Academy Secondary School on suspicion that he stole K172,000 meant for examination fees for six form two students.
Central West Region Police deputy public relations officer Sub Inspector Foster Benjamin said the students have failed to write the Junior Certificate examination (JCE), which started today, since the suspect, Desmond Chidandale, 30, didn’t send the fees to Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB).
“This prompted the victims’ parents to report him to Area 24 police, leading to the school director’s arrest.
“Police have since charged the suspect with fraud other than false pretenses and will appear in court soon,” he said
Chidandale comes from Chitedze Village Traditional Authority Malili in Lilongwe District.
