At a time when the Malawi government is encouraging various companies to deliberately embark on value addition to help the country  expand its export base, SSS Investments Limited manufacturers of Sangalala Fun Snacks   is poised to bring  new products  on the market before the end of the month of September

The company situated along the Area 47 by-pass road off the Mchinji-Lilongwe route is currently  manufacturing potato salted chips, potato paprika chips, moon crisps, jungle safari chips, crunchy wheels chips, and alphabet.

Managing Director of the Company Salim Sakrani disclosed in an interview that the new products coming  on the market  include Cassava BBQ chips, Cassava Sweet Chillies chips, Cassava Tomato Ketchup chips, noodles, pasta and mini mandasi.

“We have always want to bring international standards to Malawi products and this is exactly what we are doing. Our crisps can ably compete with any kind of crisps on the international market. We are growing and expanding at a very good pace and we have acquired new equipment which has enabled us to broaden our product base,” says Sakrani.

Since its inception two years ago the company’s products have been a hit in most households and sales volumes have been on an upward trajectory since then.

What makes Sangalala Fun Snacks a must for every household is the competitive price the  snacks or crisps are sold.

It is this customers centric approach that the company took that has compelled it to introduce new products which will excite Malawians further.

The crisps are packaged in packets that meet international standards.

The company apart from offering employment to a number of Malawians is also giving an opportunity to farmers to sell their potatoes and cassava at a very competitive price hence helping government in its poverty reduction efforts.

Area 47 based Simeon Chigalu commended the company for bringing new products on the market saying imported crisps have become very expensive.

“I used to buy the crisps for my school going kids but now I hav gone local. Sangalala chips is equally good and we are aving a lot of money. Imported crisps are beyond many Malawians now with the way the economy is behaving lately,” said Chigalu.

Sangalala Fun Snacks are a must have for school going children, during parties, weddings, during tea time, can be given to patients and just to cut the whole story short they are a must have for any occasion
