By Erik Chiputula:

Sable Farming Sartuday’s perfomance recharged their quest to move out of TNM Super League relegation zone after claiming 1-0 victory over Karonga United at Mpira Stadium.

Sheriff Maida’s strike from the spot was enough for Macdonald Mtetemela’s men to reach 21 points from 24 games.

The result means Sable Farming remains 14th on standings but the gap with 13th placed Red Lions being trimmed to just 4 points.

The Reds who have played two more games than Sable Farming put themselves under pressure after suffering a 1-0 home defeat against fellow soldiers Moyale Barracks.

Charles Khoma scored deep inside the second half to hand Moyale Barracks maximum points and move from seventh to fifth on Standings.

Elsewhere Kamuzu Barracks squandered chance to move second and move closer to the leaders Nyasa Big Bullets as they played out a goalless draw against visitors Mighty Mukuru Wanderers at Champion Stadium.

After a barren 90 minutes that saw KB wasted many scoring opportunities and on the other hand Wanderers managing a single shot on target whole 90 minutes, points were shared and the Chiwoko Boys remain third on 48 points, 1 behind second placed Blue Eagles and eight behind Bullets on top while Wanderers maintain fourth position with 41 points from 22 games.

FULL RESULTS: WEEK 27, DAY 71

SATURDAY, 8th OCTOBER, 2022
-Kamuzu Barracks 0-0 Mighty Mukuru Wanderers
-Sable Farming 1-0 Karonga United (Sherrif Maida)
-Red Lions 0-1 Moyale Barracks (Charles Nkhoma)
