Kalisto Pasuwa has explained his decision for selecting Ephraim Kondowe over Binwell Katinji in his 28-man squad for FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Namibia.

Pasuwa has been criticized for dropping the Bankers man who recently scored two goals for Flames against Comoros in CHAN qualifiers.

Responding to explain why Ephraim Kondowe is selected over Katinji, he said: “remember also we are looking at 2027, if you look on age difference between Katinji and Ephraim, Ephraim is young. I don’t say Ephraim is coming to start but he is with us to learn and understand the system”

“For Binwell Katinji, he is in the age bracket with the likes of Mbulu and Gabadinho so despite being one of good strikers but we thought of calling someone who is abit younger to be learning” he added.

The match comes as the Flames sit fourth with six points in Group H of World Cup qualifiers where as Namibia are second with eight points, both from four matches.
