FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will have to avoid defeats in their last two games against Karonga United and Silver Strikers in order for them to seal their fifth consecutive league Championship.
Silver Strikers and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers are breathing in FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ shoulders going into the last two games of the season.
Speaking ahead of the “crucial” game against Karonga United this afternoon in Karonga, Kalisto Pasuwa has admitted that the players have pressure but they need to grow up in order to have the results coming.
“We know the pressure which is there, to some of the guys, they are very young but we need to grow up in order for us to get those results. On our side, we expect the boys to be ready mentally by now.
“It’s an interesting game, we are playing away from home and the opposition can be very attacking, in an attacking mood. We need to contain them and at the same time, we need to see how best we can penetrate them in order for us to get results.
“We have been synching them, we have been trying as coaches as much as we can, to tell these boys to say it can be done. The only worry that I have been carrying in each and every day is the way we have been playing games. Travelling almost 800 Kilometers away from home then we play three days at a time,” he said.
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have won twelve games against Karonga United, losing two times and drawing four times. However, Bullets are yet to win away from home against Trevor Kajawa’s side which is enjoying home ground advantage as of late since 2019.
Pasuwa said Karonga United when playing at home are very physical and aggressive and they don’t need to be underrated.
“We need to be in our right sense of mood in order for us to get those results. In bumpy pitches, we really need to adjust in order for us to get results,” he added.
The Hosts, Karonga United are hunting for the Airtel Top 8 Cup slot as one of Trevor Kajawa’s targets after signing a six-month renewable contract with the Club in mid-season.
They sit 8th on the table with 37 points and a win over Bullets will see them sealing a spot in the season seven of the Airtel Top 8 Cup next season.
Kajawa said the players are aware of the importance of the game.
“We know the importance of winning this game because we are aiming to play in the Airtel Top 8 Cup next season. We are promising our fans to come in large numbers to support our team.
“In our team, we believe that we have played 13 games without a loss at Karonga Stadium and we believe that we will try to maintain that come on Wednesday.
“As Karonga United, we know what we want from this game and the players know what they will do on that day. We were expecting the fans to come and give the players the morale,” he said.
