Simba SC eased into the CAF Champions League second round thanks to another 2-0 win over Nyasa Big Bullets, giving them a 4-0 aggregate victory.
Following Simba’s emphatic 2-0 victory in the first leg last week, Nyasa Big Bullets needed three goals without reply in order to go through.
Despite their lead on aggregate it was Simba SC who started on a high note but Nyasa Big Bullets defense martialed by John Lanjesi, Gomezgan Chirwa and Precious Sambani was very solid in the opening minutes of the match.
The hosts finally broke the deadlock on 29th minutes through Moses Phiri whose powerful left footer managed to beat Clever Mkungula in goals for Bullets.
The People’s team made first half substitution when coach Kalisto Pasuwa introduced Chimwemwe Idana for Alick Lungu.
The change helped to stabilize Bullets’ midfield and it was balanced until halftime.
The People’s team started brightly in the second half when Babatunde Adepoju was introduced and they registered their first shot on target early in the second half through Enerst Petro whose close range shot was saved by Simba’s goalkeeper Aishi Minula to concede corner kick.
The Host were two up five minutes into the second half when Phiri doubled their lead after a quick counter attack.
At 4-0 aggregate, Bullets gave up and they were just preventing their goal from more humiliation until the game ended 2-0 in favor of Simba SC.
It was the fourth conservative season for the People’s Team to be booted out in the preliminary round of the continental showpiece.
