MultiChoice Africa Holdings B.V. (MAH) has welcomed the ruling delivered by the High Court in Lilongwe, in a matter between MultiChoice Malawi and the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) over management of DStv tariffs.
The case followed Macra’s decision to stop MAH from adjusting tariffs without its approval.
On Friday, High Court Judge, William Yakuwawa Msiska has ruled that MACRA was not supposed to regulate DStv rates as they are not set by MultiChoice Malawi
In a statement released on Friday, MAH said the will give an update before Wednesday next week.
“In relation to the resumption of DStv services in Malawi, customers will be given an update by no later than Wednesday, 6 December 2023. MAH is treating this matter with the urgency it deserves,” reads part of the statement.
