Mpangeni, Jali take Silver Reserve top of Chipiku League

Silver Strikers Reserve dislodged Support Battalion at the summit of CRFA Chipiku Premier division League following their 2-0 win over Leyman Panthers on Sunday.

Ebenezer Mpangeni opened the scores at 10 minutes when slot home a rebound after his spot kick was saved by Panthers goalkeeper.

Lasuli Jali added the second on 39th minute to help his team seal a 2-0 victory.

Since the start of Chipiku Premier division League last round, the Young Bankers have won all three games and they sits top with nine points.

Leyman Panthers stays 11th with a single point from three games.

In another match on Sunday, Mbabzi United have registered first win in three matches following their 2-1 win over Ngolowindo FC.

Goals from Patrick Banda and Jailosi Malata ensured victory to Mbabzi whereas the consolation goal for Ngolowindo FC was scored by Patrick Mambo.

Mbabzi have moved up to sixth with five points while Ngolowindo have 3 points on ninth.

A day before Support Battalion squandered a chance to maintain top spot as they suffered a 1-0 home defeat against Kawinga FC.

Anold Kiyama scored from the spot to send Kawinga FC third on standings with seven points while Support Battalion dropped from top to fourth as they remain with six points.

Elsewhere, St. Gabriel Medicals Zitha thrashed Kamuzu Barracks Reserve 3-1 to climb up to second place.

As of third week of final round of Chipiku, KB Reserve have drop to bottom of the table with a single points.

Villa FC have moved six steps from bottom to seventh after beating Airborne Rangers 2-1.

The Mchinji boy relied on Phillimon Manda and Bennet Konyo while winless Airborne Rangers scored their goal through Emmanuel Chipeta.

Villa FC have three points so far while Airborne Rangers have one point on 10th position.

The last match on Saturday produced six goals as Mangoni Warriors and Luanar FC played out a 3-3 draw.
