Activists Joshua Chisa Mbele, Levi Luwemba and four others have pleaded not guilty to two charges leveled against them.
The suspects were arrested on Friday last week after they led the anti-government demonstrations, demanding for the resignation of President Lazarus Chakwera.
They were charged with contravening a written notice by the district commissioner in relation to the demonstrations as the six failed to comply with a written notice from the DC not to proceed with the demos to State House while the second account is of inciting violence.
It is suspected that Mbele and the others told the people that assembled at the demonstrations to physically attack shop owners and other individuals that were not taking part in the demos.
The State has indicated that they seven witnesses to testify against the accused.
Meanwhile, Chief Resident Magistrate Madalitso Khoswe Chimwaza reserved his ruling on bail application by defense lawyer Gilbert Khonyongwa.
He will deliver his ruling on Tuesday.
