A Mount Meru Millers Factory worker in Dowa District, Rashid Kadyandawa has died after a heap of Soya bean bags fell on him while working in the silos.
Confirming the development, Dowa Police Spokesperson Gladson M’bumpha told Zodiak Online the the incident happened when Kadyandawa and colleagues were sorting out the bags.
“In the course of their work, the bags suddenly fell down and covered him completely,” he said adding that efforts to rescue Kadyandawa were made but unfortunately by the time he was removed from the Silos he was already dead.
He said the body of Kadyandawa is at Dowa District Hospital pending postmortem.
The deceased hailed from Kachule Village in the area of Traditional Authority Kachere in Dedza District.
