The Kasungu football loving fans last Sunday trekked to Mtunthama Community ground where Malawi’s Football Legends took their memory lane down as they beat Namatcheni Select 2-0 in a friendly match organized by football Adminstrator Jim Kalua under JK Productions.
They might not have looked how they once did, a few grey hairs here and there and perhaps the kit did not fit as comfortably, but intertainment followed at a packed Mtunthama Community ground.
The mood was jovial as the spectators occupied all spaces to watch some legends live in action for the first time like Kinnah Phiri, Young Chimodzi, Meck Mwase, Gabriel Chirwa and many others.
The veterans who dominated the whole match were able to score their goals through Honorable Arnold Kadzanja and Gabriel Chirwa.
In a post match interview, JK Productions Director Jim Kalua said they organized the match to give chance for the former players to interact with people of Kasungu.
“We have achieved as there has been an outcry from the people of Kasungu to see these great players come out from this land”
the team featured football legends like Phiri, Simplex Nthara, Young Chimodzi, Bob Mpinganjira, Meck Mwase and Fischer Kondowe amang others
Kalua has also revealed plans of establishing academies, player scouting department and a resource office through the JK Productions initiative.
He however called upon well wishers to support his initiative financially so that it achieve it’s intended purpose.
