The Lilongwe District Women’s Football Committee (LDWC) has called upon companies and organizations to partner them as they look to establish Lilongwe Women’s District League.
The LDWC General Secretary Ellina Mumba has told the Atlas that the committee is geared to work tirelessly with teams from the rural, peri-urban and urban communities with an aim of developing, unlock talent and empower the girls and adolescent young women through women’s football.
“We are calling upon companies, organizations and individuals to partner us because we are planning to introduce district League so their financial support will help us running the affairs of the League. Apart from money we are open to receive any sports equipment like balls, first aid kit, jerseys, bibs, things that will help us on the ground” said Mumba
She added that her committee is yet come up with a proper budget for the upcoming activities but they receiving any contribution from well wishers.
Apart form plans to start reaching out to companies and organizations, the LDWC which was constituted in October 2022 further revealed that they have set a team of committee members and volunteers who will be walking with boxes and approach people to make their contributions towards the Initiative.
