Rumphi District Information Officer (DIO) Manase Nyirenda has emerged one of the winners during the TNM Mpamba Kashi Kashi Promotion grand prize draw held on Wednesday.

During the draw, 28 customers, one from each district, won K1 million kwacha each while 28 TNM Mpamba agents, one from each district as well, went away with K500 000 each.

Speaking at the conclusion of a TNM Mpamba Kashi Kashi Promotion which has rewarded customers and agents with over K80 Million, General Manager, Chris Sukasuka said the company’s transactional services through Mpamba are going a long way to stimulate economic growth by making cash available in both rural and urban areas and where other financial service providers are not present.

“The unique advantage of TNM Mpamba is its expansive network coverage which makes the transactional services ubiquitous. People can therefore send and receive money, pay bills, share airtime, and receive monthly salaries using our network. In so doing we are playing a critical role in deepening financial inclusion in Malawi,” he said.

“I can’t believe that I am K1 million richer today courtesy of TNM Mpamba, God has smiled on me. Thank you TNM for Mpamba which has changed my economic status,” shouted joyous Nyirenda who added that with the prize, his dreams of owning a plot will now be a reality.

Outlining his quick plans for the prize money, Likoma based TNM Mpamba agent Francis Vuma who trades under Star Guide Investments said he is going to invest the cash into his business, which has a capital of K1.5 million.

The General Manager said during the financial year ended December 31, 2022, Mpamba was instrumental in driving the company’s revenue streams. TNM group’s revenue grew by two percent to MWK96.35 Billion due to growth in Mpamba revenue by 27 percent to MWK14.41 Billion.

“TNM Mpamba has grown from a simple service that enabled sending and receiving money to providing more value in different ways. This growth has been initiated with our persistent investment in innovation from our staff, partners and more importantly customers and agents for supporting such innovation,” said Sukasuka.

Saukira said the multifaceted Mpamba Kashi Kashi promotion registered an increase in transactions by 41 percent with over 120 million transactions for customers being recorded and 12 million for Mpamba agents. The promotion managed to reward 1,008 customers and 868 agents with cash prizes.

“Promotion winners were derived from every district providing equity in the contribution of prize money,” he said
