Renowned journalist Francis Dule passed away last night after a brief illness, as confirmed by his family.
According to his wife Grace, Dule succumbed to asthma and was pronounced dead at Area 25 Clinic in Lilongwe.
“He was asthmatic, but his condition worsened on Tuesday. We took him to Jika Private Clinic, and they referred us to Area 25 Clinic, where he passed away,” she said.
The remains of Francis Dule will be taken from Kamuzu Central Hospital this morning to his home village Malingunde, Lilongwe, where he will be laid to rest tomorrow, Thursday.
Currently, the vigil is being held at his sister’s residence in Gulliver, Area 49.
Before his passing, Dule had worked with various media houses, including Capital FM, Dziko Radio, and most recently, he was the head of Programs at Linga FM Radio.
Tributes have started pouring in from media personalities as well as the general public.
Renowned journalist Gloria Masanza wrote on her WhatsApp status; “A fine radio DJ you were. You loved radio, and I’m sure radio loved you too. Rest well, Francis Dule, my colleague at Capital Radio and later Linga FM.”
