Mafco Team Manager, Godfrey Makawano while confirming the development to Atlas, Said Mbulu will be up for action this weekend but declined to comment further on the failed Iraq deal.

“Yes i can confirm that we have Mbulu in our camp and he will be up for selection this coming weekend and the other games to come, thats all what i can say for now” Said Makawano.

When asked to comment on why Mbulu possible transfer to Iraq has hit the snag, Makawano referred this reporter to Malawi Defence Force Spokesperson Emmanuel Mlelemba, who refused to comment on the matter.

Mbulu who won the tnm Super League Golden Boot in the 2016/2017 super league season after banging an impressive 19 goals is set to re-unite with coach Stereo Gondwe who has so far guided MAFCO to fourth position in the Super league with 8 games left to play.

Before joining Baroka, Mbulu had a stint with with Mozambican side Costa do Sol as well as Portuguese semi-professional side Sanjoanense.

Recently he has lost his place in the Flames strating 11 after falling out of favour with Flames coach Mario Marinica at the 2021 AFCON tournament in Cameroun.

His rejoining of MAFCO might however increase his chances of regaining his place as he is guaranteed of game time under Coach Stereo Gondwe a coach who discovered him when he was a youngster.
