Police in Lilongwe have arrested an employee of Golden Peacock Complex on allegations that he has been defiling a 14-year-old girl.
According to Lingadzi Police spokesperson, Salome Chibwana, the suspect, popularly known as Mr Ju, is alleged to have been defiling the girl in exchange for K4 000.
Chibwana said the victim’s parents work as cleaners at the suspect’s house.
“We are yet to interrogate the suspect. Our efforts to do so have failed because he claims that he doesn’t understand English or Chichewa. Currently, he is still in custody awaiting an interpreter,” she said.
